Design Goal and Interaction vision
The design goal was; I want to create a positive and relaxed dinner experience between a person with dementia and his/her children
The interaction vision was; It is like making music together, on a sunny day.
Tim
The concept is called Tim. Tim provides a cozy dinner experience between a person with dementia and his/her children. The heat of the candles let the propellers and old photos rotate and stimulate demented elderly to recognize moments from the past. The photos are a good trigger to start a conversation and let the family feel connected with each other.
Music is included as well. A Bluetooth speaker is placed in the bottom of the concept. Before the dinner starts, the children are able to create a personal playlist with their smartphone. So during the dinner they can listen to the music. The music stimulates reminisce and prevents awkward silence.
