Design Goal and Interaction vision
The design goal; Making the morning of demented elderly (clients) in closed psychogeriatric care facilities more enjoyable by transforming their coffee time passiveness into mental and physical activity involving awareness of their environment.
The interaction vision; The interaction of the client with his or her social and physical environment should be
inviting, softly challenged, sharing and tranquil.

Puzzling People
As clients in pg facilities can possess completely different skill sets, I have chosen to not just define one kind of puzzle; ‘puzzling people’ is a series of puzzles (see devisser1.jpg).
The 3D/multi-sensory puzzle can be used for activating more than two clients at the same time. A family puzzle can be used for 2 to 3 clients and allows one client to experience and share a personal history. The proverb puzzle can be used for 2 to 3 clients and is aimed at challenging the participants to complete the proverb. All three puzzle types can be designed in three levels of difficulty, i.e. same size, different number of pieces.
Relatives can contribute to a pleasant morning for their family member by assembling input for the puzzles.
