To empower Syrian refugees in moments when their identities are compromised.
Interaction vision
Vital Voices
Vital Voices is a ambiguously shaped object that utilizes a combination of audio and lighting effects to engage refugees to elect a question, answer it and play back a recording of their answers. The object stores and saves each story for others to hear. Refugees can also listen to stories of other refugees. This object belongs to the public domain, circulating from person to person, serving as a platform for sharing stories. After a refugee interacts with this product in a storytelling or story listening capacity, he will leave the interaction feeling empowered, confident and with a restored sense of identity. While here I focus on the refugee’s interaction with this product, Dutch people can also interact with the object as listeners, hearing the stories of refugees.
