Project Mokum: Lil Luci

By: Ewoud Komen
Keywords: Neighbourhood: Hurried, Hostile, Confusing.
Tutors: Gert Pasman & Wouter van der Hoog

Design Goal and Interaction vision
The design goal; To bring the tourist and the local resident of the Waterloo square neighbourhood together, by taking away the negative perception of crowdedness by both parties.
The interaction vision; (1) warm, (2) affable and (3) engaging. Metaphore: “Waking up with the feelings of a Monday, but discovering that it is a Saturday”.

Project Mokum: Lil Luci
Li’l Luci (a portmanteau of ‘Li’l Kleine’, an Amsterdam rapper and Lucifer, the devil) provides both the cyclist the opportunity to relief the frustration and provides the tourist the opportunity to discover a rather unknown part of town by luring him to a authentic coffee bar. I decided on providing a free coffee in exchange for Li’l Luci in participating cafetaria as a option for tourists, as tourists showed much interest in visiting alternative places, rather than providing a free ticket for a museum as that was seen as ‘tacky’ and as badly disguised advertisement.
