About me

I am an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE), TU Delft, and am mostly involved in teaching and doing research on Interaction and Experience Design related issues. My current research focuses on museum experience design. More about my research can be found on my research page.

Organisation

I am Director of the MuseumFutures Lab at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, a Delft Design School Lab that provides room for graduate students to graduate on topics around the future of museum experience design. The MuseumFutures Lab is always looking for opportunities to collaborate with other Faculty researchers or external parties. Click here for a one-page leaflet explaining the aims of the MusuemFutures lab in more detail.

I am a member of the Connected Everyday Lab led by Elisa Giaccardi and am associated to the Faculty’s Persuasive Gaming Group. Currently, I am involved in supervising four PhD candidates, as well as in various Bachelor and Master courses related to Interaction and Experience Design (more about my educational activities can be found on my education page). I am PhD mentor of a varying number of PhD candidates (usually around 10).

My other work-related (but possibly outdated) profile pages can be found on the Faculty profile pages, the Connected Everyday Lab pages, the University’s profile pages and the Persuasive Gaming Design website.

Brief history

After graduating at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering on a ‘Future User Interface Design’ project for Océ Nederland BV, I set up the Faculty’s first usability lab and started doing research on usability. In 2009 I received my PhD on methodological issues of usability testing ( ‘What’s the problem? Studies on identifying usability problems in user tests’). I have been involved in various Dutch nationally funded research programs,  as well as in various European projects. See my research page for more details on past projects.
