BIOGRAPHY

As an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering (IDE), TU Delft, I teach and conduct research in the field of Interaction and Experience Design. After graduating at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering on a ‘Future User Interface Design’ project for Océ Nederland BV, I set up the Faculty’s first usability lab and started doing research on usability. I hold a PhD in methodological issues of usability testing. I have been involved in EU-funded projects on User Experience (UX) in which I acted as working group leader. My current research focuses on Design for Experience and Behaviour Change (in the context of public places). For example, in recent projects I have been involved in the Designing Happy Flows project for KLM and Schiphol Airport, as well as in projects on designing and assessing museum experiences, such as for Europeana, Mauritshuis, Museon and Science Centers NEMO and Delft. I supervise PhD candidates on Crowd Experiences, Social Connectedness and Gamification for Inciting Collaborative Behaviour. My personal home page can be found here.
