On February 2015 I returned to the IDStudiolab as a teacher of practice after a 10 year official hiatus, though I never really left. In 1999 I was there as a fresh father and PhD student when the IDStudiolab was founded. I did my research on Designer Interaction with Informal Collections of Visual Material and received a Cum Laude PhD from a great committee in November 2005.
The years after this I ran my own design consultancy For Inspiration Only (which is still active), while teaching at many different institutions. Starting in 2009, I infrequently returned to the faculty to teach different classes, such as Interaction & Electronics, Cross Media Interaction Design, Bachelor Final Project, Interactive Technology Design, Video for Designers, Interactive Environments.
After I was selected as Most Inspiring Teacher of the DfI Master and nominated for Best Teacher of the TU Delft in 2014, I really wanted to come back to the faculty where I graduated from in 1995.
I work 3 days at the TU Delft (mon, wed, thu) in education coordinating the IDE Academy for all master students and small things over at the Master Identity Days, Interactive Technology Design etc.
Want more? You can read my monthly column in De Ingenieur (in Dutch), and occasionally see me talk (in Dutch) about Apple related stuff at One More Thing or Twitter related stuff over at NOS Journaal.
In my spare time you can find me with my family on our farm in Sleeuwijk (near Gorinchem) and acting in plays.
