Context

Families dealing with childhood cancer treatment at home.

Purpose

Mr. V the Spaceman (version 2) is an data-enabled objects that drops surprises based on collective activities, to simulate social engagement among family members during stressful times.

Learnings

Developing a sturdy prototype with appropriate interactive features for this context has required time and fine-tuning. However, even if not perfect, families liked to experience and assess a playful, cheerful and familiar object designed for them.
