Families dealing with childhood cancer treatment at home.
Purpose
Mr. V (version 1) or Mr. Verrassing (Dutch for surprise) is an autonomous dispenser that drops surprises based on collective activities, to stimulate social engagement among family members during stressful times.
Learnings
Developing a sturdy prototype with appropriate interactive features for this context has required time and fine-tuning. However, even if not perfect, families liked to experience and assess a playful, cheerful and familiar object designed for them.
