Hi, I’m Brian.

I  joined the ID StudioLab in August 2009 to earn my PhD. Under the guidance of Pieter Jan Stappers and Ingrid Mulder, my research is examining the use of crowdsourcing as an online user research tool for human centered design.

Previously I was an Assistant Professor at the United States Air Force Academy, where I taught undergraduate Human Factors and Systems Engineering. My research background is very broad, but emphasizes HCI and usability. I have worked in many domains including: rehabilitation of neuromuscular disabilities, air craft maintenance systems, unmanned vehicle controls, information display & decision aiding, ruggedized computers, and emotion & trust in computing.

I have a BSE in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington (Seattle) and MSE degrees in Human-Factors and Bio-Medical Engineering from Wright State (Dayton, OH).
