The LiftLife project started in the Exploring Interactions (EI) course and was continued in the course Interactive Technology Design (ITD) to be finally presented at the yearly recurring Microsoft Design Expo in Seattle. The 5 students of the ITD team: ‘Social Elevator’ worked on the project during the ITD course in the first semester of 2012 and went to Seattle during the summer break to present it amongst 5 other teams from different Universities who each presented their projects.
The project aims to create the conditions for ‘Social Cohesion’ to take place in neighborhoods where typically no cohesion takes place. A context mapping research was carried out in two of those neighborhoods and the extracted qualities were implemented in a concept, both in the EI course and in the ITD course.
