what people say
The Cabinet has been demonstrated to many people now, we have gathered their comments and here are some of the "kudos" we received. These are of course excerpts and sometimes translated.
- Rob van Kranenburg "... Like you stand and watch Ianus slowly take slide away the image he has just photographed and hey! isn't that the original shining through? Magic." In a wonderfully organized visit (by Daniel) of the Virtual Platform and Steim to our facilities. (March 9, 2005)
- Jack Gerrissen "This could have an interesting impact on the social aspects of visual material and support creativity through gestures, like Caroline Hummels previously explored" Visiting the "studiolab" shortly after his uittreerede. (March 9, 2005)
- Sonja Bettel "Simple appealing design, very easy to use, stripped to the bare necessities and a restrained system that doesn't always ask did you really mean...?. I am a person who needs to touch things, be able to arrange them, spread them in front of me. If I would be a designer (which I would love!), I think I would love the Cabinet. " After a short interview for the Austrian Radio programme Matrix . (February 15, 2005)
- Liz Sanders "Very intuitive interface. Though it is designed as a a tool for designers, I keep imagining how it would work as a Thinking/creating tool for the people we call end-users. Imagine what children would do with it in the classroom!" After a very long trip and giving an inspirational speech Liz visited the "studiolab". (December 13, 2004)
- Donald Norman "The only problem I have with this project is you; you make it look so easy and magical that I wonder if it will really work as well when used by other people." (which gave me the opportunity to tell him about the extensive three months on location testing we did at three design companies) During an organized tour of the ID-Studiolab (October 8, 2004)
- Prof. dr. ir. T.J. Fokkema "This makes me proud of the Delft Unversity of Technology, you should be feeling proud as well" During a short impromptu visit at the ID-Studiolab (October 8, 2004)
- Daniel Saakes "Scanning textures works amazingly well; the audio/visual feedback of your prototype however resembles programming my central heating." using the Cabinet for scanning in textures to project on models (October 8, 2004)
- Larry Leifer "Digital libraries need this, designers want this" During a short visit in the ID-Studiolab at the IE&PDE Conference 2004 (September 3, 2004)
- Lorraine Justice "You are doing interesting work" During a tour of the ID-Studiolab at the IE&PDE Conference 2004 (September 3, 2004)
