cabinet team
The Cabinet (previously known as the Image Generation Station) is the grand finale part of
Ianus Keller's Ph.D. project. But most of all it is supported by these wonderful developers, thinkers, designers, friends, testers and researchers:
- Pieter Jan Stappers: The big inspiration, tickles the group with new insights and of course pays our bills.
- Aadjan van der Helm: The artistic programmer, keeps the director code structured but still expressive and most of all adaptable. Also the driving force for keeping our MDS-interactive code an integral part of the Cabinet experience
- Aldo Hoeben: The computer magician, who with some seemingly simple but extremely sophisticated pieces of code transformed the interaction with the images from a raw to an extremely fluent one.
- Anneke Keller: Yes, she is my wife and supports me emotionally, but more important she was able to physically transform the first Aluminium wireframe IGS into the suave wooden Cabinet.
- Kerem Odabasi: Our extremely talented hardware and electronics magician worked out some preliminary solutions for the lighting conditions for the Cabinet (which we did not use, but still...)
- Rob Luxen: Sitting behind the glass Rob is the true engineer that I wanted to work with for so long, but we couldn't get it going, until I had this very simple problem of detecting the insertion of the USB memory disk. He was able to put together one of the most elegant solutions in Cabinet
- Marieke Sonneveld: The most amazing tester in the world, who with great enthusiasm and constant feedback built one of the best "collections" of visual material I have ever seen.
- Onno van Nierop: The true designer who in just one afternoon helped me make my initial rough sketches into a well developed and clear product design.
- Daniel Saakes: The visionary purist who was there in the initial phases of the prototype to make some of toughest choices and keep the prototype as simple and pure as it is supposed to be.
- Froukje Sleeswijk Visser: My completely independent yet loyal interviewer who evaluates the Cabinet each time we take it away from our designers.
- Remko van der Lugt: The absolute first user of the Cabinet, shot a small cartoon on February 2, 2003 and shot one of his huge mindmaps a year later.
- And...: Rudolf Wormgoor (testing and product design), Caroline Hummels(testing and great feedback), Peter Deurloo(cool testing), Thomas van Rompay(enthusiastic testing), Alireza Ajdari,

These designers have been using the Cabinet for four weeks in their design process and have surprised us with their new insights and methods.
