<\/a>SharedSpaces is a technology developed within the EU-funded project\u00a0COMPEIT<\/a>. An application was developed for allowing older adults to engage from their homes in a virtual tour through part of the Louvre, by a distant real-life guide. A context mapping study was conducted to learn about the older adults lives and interests. This was followed by a creative facilitation session combining the results from context mapping with the possibilities of the SharedSpaces technology. We studied the visitors\u2019 feelings of social and spatial presence, immersion and engagement in relation to the level of interactivity in communicating with the guide, as well as the extent to which the presence of other virtual visitors improved the experience.<\/p>\nThis project was done by Galena Kostoska (a visiting PhD candidate from University of Trento) in the context of the COMPEIT project, with Joke Kort (TNO) and Charlie Gullstr\u00f6m (KTH Architecture Sweden).<\/p>\n The project was done within the ‘Lasting Encounters theme of the Connected Everyday Lab’<\/a><\/p>\n Publication:<\/p>\n Galena Kostoska, Arnold P.O.S.
