In 2008 I obtained my PhD with my thesis on Coordination of Interpersonal Privacy in Mediated Communication, at Industrial Design Faculty, of TU/e.

Currently I work as an Associate Professor in Industrial Design Engineering Faculty at Delft University of Technology, and an active member of IDStudioLab. I dedicate my research and education time to develop knowledge and teach about how to conduct in-situ and mixed design interventions addressing issues of participant engagement and the integration of quantitative and qualitative data collection, analysis and interpretation. My research projects address two main application domains: sustainability and healthcare.

Since 2019, I became editor in chief of the EAI Endorsed Transaction on Pervasive Health and Technologies, an open access journal indexed in Scopus. The journal focuses on personal electronic health assistants, health crowdsourcing, data mining and knowledge management, IT applications to needs of patients, disease prevention and awareness, electronic and mobile health platforms including design and more, with no publishing fees. The journal will adopt a new format based only on special issues. Design researchers working in the area of healthcare and technologies can suggest interesting topics and become editors of special issues.

News

Chair of first EAI international conference on Digitalising Healthcare, DigiC@re 2020, in Santiago de Chile, in collaboration with Everis, Proteinlab,Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana (UTEM), and Universidad de Chile

In summer 2019, I was interviewed by Connie Clare on my research and role as a TU Delft data champion.
