Ianus Keller is a Teacher of Design and Inspiration<\/strong>. On February 2015 he returned to the StudioLab after a 10 year official hiatus. Between 1989 and 1994 Ianus studied Industrial Design Engineering at the faculty, worked at several design companies and in 1999 returned as a young father and PhD student<\/a>. During this time he helped found the StudioLab. In November 2005 Ianus received a Cum Laude PhD on a research through design for his design and thesis called For Inspiration Only: Designer Interaction with Informal Collections of Visual Material<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The years after this I ran my own design consultancy For Inspiration Only<\/a> (which is still active), while teaching at many<\/a> different<\/a> institutions<\/a>. Starting in 2009, I infrequently returned to the faculty to teach different classes.<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After being nominated and selected as Most Inspiring Teacher<\/a> for the DfI Master<\/a> and nominated for Best Teacher of the TU Delft in 2014, I really wanted to come back to my Alma Mater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I work 4 days at the TU Delft (mon, tue, wed, thu) in education coordinating the IDE Academy<\/a> for all master students and coaching in courses such as Design Theory & Methodology and Interactive Technology Design etc. Since February 2020 I’ve been setting up the course Understanding Design, which will be the first theoretical course encountered by 1st year Bachelor students in the new Bachelor.<\/div>\n\n\n\n
