Welcome to our page!
?How can we use Ai to create a mesmeric and sustainable experience for present and future CitizenM customers ??
Our 3 explorations
Through the three concepts, we explored the interplay between
Luxury and Sustainability
Concept 3 - Interactive Darkness - Immersive
Interactive Darkness
Offering the possibility of experiencing darkness while enjoying the scarce and sporadic presence of light. From accessing the minimal light needed to go to the bathroom and take a shower, to being able to admire the immensity of a starry night projected on the ceiling of the room.
We prototyped two sets of gesture-visual interactions using Edge Impulse, Arduino, and Touch Designer. The Arduino?s accelerometer served as a ?wand? to perform specific gestures, and we simulated a starry night that responded to the gestures.
Technology
Findings
- performing the right gestures can be challenging ? simple gestures are preferrable
- Moving visuals of the starry night are enjoying
- Intriquing visuals motivate users to keep the lights off
Takeaways
- More natural and intuitive gestures are required
- Further explore specific places for light in thr room and light sources.
- Knowing how to get data from Arduino with an ML Model to TouchDesigner allows us to do some cool real-time graphics in the future.
Going forward
A room which per default is completely dark, and is augmented with new technology to create a comfortable, somewhat practical and unique experience.
How can you guide a person through a dark space using signifiers, feedback or predicting movement patterns, as well as utilizing the fact that it is dark to provide new and exciting aesthetic expressions and new experiential qualities? How can the lack of light be connected with light shining in from outside at night? This is what we want to examine further in this project.
Refining the concept in these 5 aspects
