Avoid ambiguity in responsibilities.
Check for clear structure. Descriptions of the procedure should be in protocol.
Avoid overlap. Variables are described in tests measure. In analysis define the methods used to calculate the results (average of time spend, max of errors per page, etc.).
Don’t forget to identify quantitative and qualitative variables and how you will capture them (method, frequency, criteria).
A task should be introduced in terms of user goals and not interaction steps.
