About

My name is Odette and I am a doctoral researcher in Design Aesthetics at Delft University of Technology. I combine conceptual and experimental approaches to studying how people’s knowledge of designers’ intentions affects their aesthetic assessment of products. My research contributes to Project UMA, which aims at identifying the principles governing people’s aesthetic responses to products.

I have a background in Philosophy and Art, subjects I have lectured at the Central University of Venezuela and Åbo Akademi University, in Finland. Beyond academia, I am a devoted runner, food lover, music enthusiast, obsessive knitter and poetry writer. If you are curious about my knitting, visit The Black Scissors. If you want to discuss Kant’s aesthetic theory or some other stuff, just drop me a line 🙂
