Yesterday, we started modelling with Rhino-3D in subgroups in the group. By informing eachother constantly, and quite often updating the collective geometry, the group of Samuel A, Meltem, Niels and me made a model of our theme: veins. This model is not only informed by us, but also by the models of students of other groups. On the contrary, we informed them as well, which led to a gesamtkunstwerk of the whole minor-group.
We first made an idea for the collective concept, and from there on everyone started modelling their on piece of the sphere. We used mainly the nurbs-based geometry to get the – complex surfaced – veins easily modelled.
To create smooth transitions between our different surfaces we used the Split, DupEdge and the Blendsrf-tools among many other instruments in the model-software.
In the end we added every puzzlepiece of the whole sphere and were amazed by the complex and entertaining geometry. The idea of constantly informing eachother while designing created a valuable dimension to the whole.
